Disc Pain, Bulging, Herniation, Prolapse and Sciatica
Vertebral Distraction Pump
Disc problems can be extremely painful and debilitating. Disc problems are a primary cause of chronic pain and disability. They often cause pain to radiate down one or both legs (sciatica), tingling, numbness and weakness.
What conditions are the Vertebral Distraction Pump used on?
The Vertebral Distraction Pump works on the two main causes of spinal pain and their origin. Research has shown that spinal pain comes from two main causes: The facet joint or the annular fibers of the disc. The V.D.P. can open any jammed facets as well as open up the rear elements of the vertebrae while keeping the front portion of the involved vertebrae stationary.
This can create a hydrostatic pressure change within the nucleus pulposis of the involved disc, which can draw the herniated portion of the disc back to its normal position. It can also be used on any joint where compressive forces are involved – i.e. rib head misalignments. It can also being used on major contracted muscles where it decreases the myospasm which can be affecting the spine, and the muscles it is associated with – i.e. gluteus maximus.
It is also quite useful with Seniors who may not have a great deal of pain, but have either lost flexibility, or want to maintain what they have recovered.
It is a very safe and effective way to mobilize the spinal segments, potentially facilitating remodeling of fibrotic changes in the joints and improving imbibition (hydration) in the IVD.
